  • The President also tabled the Treasurer’s Financial Report. Ken stated that the Club is in a viable financial position with funds available for suitable charities that fall within the Club’s financial guidelines.
  • The Chairman declared all positions vacant and asked for nominations for the coming year 2020/2021.
PRESIDENT – There are currently no nominations for President, so the position remains open for the time being.
TREASURER – Keith Thom (a potential new member) has offered to take up this position. Keith is a current volunteer for Manly Rotary and a leader of the Balgowlah Scout Group. He is known by several of our Members. He will attend our next meeting on 7 January 2020.

GENERAL MEETING
  • Lifeline will be sending photographs of the truck (with signage), that will be publicized on social media.  Lifeline has offered to help with the fun run 2020 with volunteers and the use of the truck if needed. They have also offered office facilities if needed at any time.
DONATIONS TO CHARITIES
  • The Club has funds available for distribution to appropriate charities.  Commitments at present include the Stand Tall Christmas Camp (just under $10,000) together with our contribution of a barbecue on 13 January.
  • (See below regarding Clinton vehicle)
WEBSITE
  • We have committed to proceed with the re-development of the Manly Rotary website for $2,200 and work on this will be started soon.
DAVE DARCY TRIBUTE DINNER
  • There are 40 tickets sold to date. Other people have verbally confirmed that should make up to 120 people. Ted is still following up with people who have shown interest in the dinner.
  • Susie to follow up with Club members who have not booked so far.
  • ICMS has not yet asked for a deposit and the event will stay on track for the present.
SPONSORSHIP FOR FUN RUN 2019
  • Ken and Susie to follow up with Medibank Private for their promised donation that has not yet been received.
POLICE LEGACY
  • Ken will present a cheque for $3000 to Police Legacy at a function this week. So far over the last ten years our Club has donated $30,000 to Police Legacy.
NORTHERN BEACHES BIG DIG
  • The Northern Beaches Cluster has approached our Club to be involved with the Big Dig in either of two ways – at a Mothers’ Day event or as part of our fun run on Fathers’ Day. After much discussion it was agreed that Evelyn report at the next Cluster Meeting that the idea is under discussion and ask their at the meeting how they think the event/s could be managed to make it/them work.
  • Our member’s main concern is that we do not have sufficient Club members at present to give such an event the time and effort it deserves and that our main focus needs to be on making our 2020 fun run a success.
WHEELS FOR CURTIS
  • The raffle was drawn yesterday (16 December) and a local person won the prize. The raffle raised $7800 less 4% administration fees. It was agreed to discuss how we may help the family with a further contribution at our next Board Meeting.
  • We are waiting to hear from the parents of Curtis how they would like to allocate the $7000 (odd).
MANLY PUBLIC SCHOOL MARKET STALL
  • Susie thanked members for helping out at the stall (next one 21 December) and club members agreed to continue with the event in 2020.
  • Robert asked if we could possibly get the “Money Spinner” to the market stall on a Saturday or sell the item as it is currently not being used at all.
  • January market stall is on 18 January 2020.
